January 2016 Guild Meeting Recap

Amy Richardson, President & CEO of the Women's Center for Advancement (WCA) spoke at the January 2016 WCA Partners Guild meeting, sharing sobering facts regarding human trafficking, victims of domestic violence and what happens to children who grow up in that environment. She focused most of her talk on prevention education offered at the WCA, their advocacy numbers for 2015 and the services that the agency provides for free to victims of abuse in the local area. Challenges this year that the Guild can help with include fundraising and their greatest needs campaigns throughout the year.

The meeting minutes from the January Guild meeting are available on the Google drive, have been distributed by email. Remember to take the membership survey. This helps the Guild board keep records updated and get to know members.

Dues this year are $100 and due by April 30. They can be paid online, at the meeting or by mailing a check to the WCA offices. Dues cover the cost of lunch at meetings, Staff Appreciation Week celebration for the WCA offices and other administrative costs. Any funds that remain at the end of the year are donated to the WCA.

• Executive meeting is Wednesday, February 3 at 11:30 a.m.
• Guild meeting is Thursday, March 10 at noon
• Winter Social is Thursday, April 14, time TBD at Pig & Finch
• WCA Staff Appreciation Week, April 18 - 22
