This is an exciting time to be a part of the Women's Center for Advancement Partners Guild. The WCA purchased new headquarters space in Omaha's Blackstone District, tripling the organization's space. The dry wall is almost complete, but before they finish, they want the community to celebrate this construction milestone with a beam signing party!

Become a Guild Member
The WCA saves hundreds of lives each year. It is the go-to place for anyone in the Omaha area who is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking. One in four women will be a victim of sexual assault in their lifetime. The WCA offers free, high-quality services to address clients’ immediate safety needs and help them to grow into independence over time.
Guild members are important volunteers and representatives in the our community. Below are time and financial commitments and expectations for Guild members.
TIME COMMITMENTS
● Attend a majority of the Guild meetings, one meeting per month, one hour, usually over the lunch hour, typically at UNO or the WCA offices
● Serve on a committee for TGIF!, the Guild’s annual fundraising event
● Attend our TGIF! fundraiser, one Friday evening, typically in early October
● Participate in at least one program activity (for example: Staff Appreciation Week, Greatest Needs Drive)
● Recruit new members
FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS
● Membership dues are $100/year and due in April. Dues go towards meeting lunches, celebrating WCA staff appreciation week, and administrative costs. Any extra funds are donated to the WCA at year end.
● Purchase at least one TGIF! event ticket, $125 ($75 for our under 35 crowd)
● Provide or solicit a silent auction item or donation at least $30 value
● Provide a bottle of wine or whiskey for the TGIF! event wine/whiskey toss, $15
● In-Kind Donations - participate in at least one “Greatest Needs” drive by providing donated items as identified by the WCA (examples include: box of diapers, soap, bras, leggings, toiletries, etc.)
Email the WCA Partners Guild if you would like to be a member.

Guild Member Spotlight - Katy Spratte
I was born and raised in the great state of Minnesota, then moved to Omaha to attend Creighton, and loved it here so much that I stayed.
I love my job, where I work with local causes as part of the TAGG (Together A Greater Good) platform; my bosses are two incredible women who I truly look up to, and each day is different from the last. Plus, I'm happy to report that the WCA is one of our partner nonprofits.
This is my first year as a member of the WCA Partner's Guild. I originally got involved as a community member of the Silent Auction committee for TGIF last year, and was thrilled to be able to join the Guild this year. I am helping with the silent auction once again, as well as serving on the Career Closet Committee. I look forward to getting to know the Guild ladies even better, and continuing to serve this wonderful organization!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking my two black labs Molly and Murphy, traveling with my fiancé Skip (Sonoma, California is next!), and practicing yoga. I suppose I should add wedding planning to my hobbies as well, since that has been dominating my time of late. Some of my other favorite things include floral design classes, my cabin up north, cooking with my gal pals, and book club (which is just code for wine club).
